Five ENYYSA Soccer Teams Selected to Play in the President’s Cup in New Hampshire This May

January 11, 2012-Congratulations to five Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association (ENYYSA) teams that were selected to compete in the Region 1 Presidents Cup on Memorial Day weekend--May 25 to 28, 2012--in Londonberry and Nashua, New Hampshire. The five teams chosen are the Boys-Under-16 White Plains Tyros and the Boys-Under-17 Manhattan SC Sparta of the Westchester Youth Soccer League, Boys-Under-14 Oceanside United Pirates and Girls-Under-15 Lake Grove Fusion of the Long Island Junior Soccer League plus the Girls-Under-16 Capital United Fusion of the Capital District Youth Soccer League. This Capital United team with most of the same players won the Region 1 Presidents Cup in Albany and represented ENYYSA at the Nationals in Iowa last year.

The Region 1 Presidents Cup is the regional qualifier for the U.S. Youth Soccer National Presidents Cup. All age group winners of the regional Presidents Cups move on, except Under-13s, to play in the National Presidents Cup in Sacramento, California on July 11 to 15, 2012.
 
The Presidents Cup is a mid-level tournament for those youth teams looking to play against squads of similar abilities for a national title.

Camdonia – Chelsea Sports Club Youth Soccer Tournament in St. Vincent and Grenadines which was conducted in December was Sponsored by: White Plains Youth Soccer.

Also, thanks to the donations of used soccer gear made by the parents of our club and other clubs in the Westchester Youth Soccer League the club was able to ship 150 pounds of soccer gear to St. Vincent and the Grenadines to help the youth program.

The process was led by one of our coaches, Renrick Alexander.

WE WANT TO THANK ALL OF THE PEOPLE WHO DONATED AND PUT A SMILE ON THE YOUTH SOCCER PLAYERS OF ST. VINCENT AND GRENADINES.

Jack Bauman & Livio D'Arpino Scholarship from the WYSL.
The scholarship’s namesake, Jack Bauman, is considered the father of women’s soccer on Long Island. Jack was devoted to the Massapequa Soccer Club, the Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association and making sure that girls had as many opportunities to play soccer as boys did in an era when girls playing sports was not as accepted as it is today. 
 
The scholarship’s namesake, Livio D’Arpino, is named after the beloved Eastern New York Youth Soccer Association Vice President who was seemingly involved in every area of local soccer before his untimely passing in 2002.
